    UC Master Gardeners are University of California Cooperative Extension trained volunteers who provide research based technical support to home
    gardeners, schools, and special projects throughout the county. 

    • Volunteers receive 16 weeks of extensive training starting January 24, 2024 - Wednesdays from 1:00pm - 5:00pm
    • Application deadline is Friday, September 29, 2023 by 5:00pm
    • Applicants will be invited to a mandatory informational meeting on Wednesday, October 25th at 1:00pm

  • ST. JOHN’S WILL CELEBRATE THE FEASTBLESSING OF THE ANIMALS SERVICE

    St John's Episcopal Church, 800 D St, Marysville, CA 95901, USA

     St. John’s Episcopal Church, Marysville, will hold its annualservice in honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at10:00 a.m.  The special service, which isopen to the public, will include the blessing of the animals in attendance.

                    The Rev. Delia Fay will officiatein the church’s courtyard, which will accommodate parishioners and guests alongwith their animal companions. All animals must be leashed or in a securecarrier.  Animal lovers who don’t currentlyhave a pet also are welcome.  Followingthe service, there will be light refreshments and fellowship for bothtwo-legged and four-legged attendees. (In case of rain, the event will move indoors to the Great Hall.)

                    St. John’s is an open andaffirming church, and welcomes everyone, with or without an accompanying animal.

                    St. John’s is located at thecorner of 8th and D Streets in Marysville. There is ample parking on the streetand in the church’s parking lot, which is entered from 8th St.

    Spooky season has arrived and Bear Yuba Land Trust invitesyou back to our annual Halloween event: Trail or Treat! We're calling allghosts and ghouls to take a wicked walk on this night of fright full of costumecontests, candy, and spooktacular surprises! Bring your best costume–there willbe a contest for kids to show off! We will have a photo booth to capture allthe boo-tiful costumes that creep upon the night! Winners will be announced onsocial media. This is a family-friendly event, all ages are welcome.

    This event is FREE, though we do ask that you RSVP so we have an idea of howmany people are attending.

    There will be limited parking available in the lot but it is recommended topark along Mill Street or Freeman Lane and walk over.

    ABOUT WOLF CREEK TRAIL: The City of Grass Valley opened the trail in 2018.The trail passes by the North Star Mining Museum and Glenn Jones Park. WolfCreek runs parallel to the trail and crosses Little Wolf Creek. BYLT wascontracted by the City to create natural earth trails that branch off from themain paved trail, providing a more natural experience closer to the water.These trails were expanded and signage was installed by BYLT in 2020 -2021 whenthe greater trail system was re-dedicated as Daspah Seyo Trail (Nisenan placename referencing the waterways in the Grass Valley area).
